Getting to le Morimont
The Sundgau (pronounced "Soongo") is an area located in southern Alsace (a region) and part of the Territory of Belfort, (a department) in the East of France.
The name "Sundgau" comes from German and means "southern county". Sund for "south" and gau for "county". Its capital is Altkirch.
The Sundgau is bordered by Switzerland to the south, the Territory of Belfort to the west, the Thur and Doller valleys to the north and the Rhine valley to the east.
Note that the Sundgau is close to cities like Mulhouse, Basel, Thann-Cernay and Belfort-Montbélliard

Coming by car
The Sundgau is bordered by many German and French motorways, the closest being A36 ( Bourgogne-Mulhouse). To get to the Sundgau from Lyon and Paris, take exit 14 at Bessoncourt and follow Bâle/Basel on D419.
Exit 15 (Burnhaupt) is ideal for motorists coming from Germany or Alsace.
Motorists from Switzerland and Austria will exit at Saint Louis on A35 after Basel. Just follow the direction Altkirch on D419.
Coming by train
Railway stations are Belfort and Mulhouse. The Paris-Mulhouse TGV is the fastest and best way (3 hours) to get here
Coming by plane
Euroairport ( better known as Basel-Mulhouse) is serviced by flights from most European cities. The airport is 45 km away from the Sundgau capital, Altkirch. Many flights are operated by low cost companies such as Easyjet or Ryanair.
